Mountain Walk

I go on a mountain walk

When thoughts occlude my head

Worries, confusion, lies white and other

The baggage of interaction

I cast these to the sky.

Early in the morning,

I crawl from the mist beneath

Scaling the western side

The sun climbing the east

And we meet upon her shoulder

Among trees clad in golden ochre.

The air up here is clear

Our interactions deep but brief

And I trade my thinking all

To the thrash of seasoned leaves

And the cobbled ridges,

Those blanketed lovers --

Let me rest upon them,

Become conversant with

Soaring birds of disencumbrance.

Such are my allies --

We gaze upon the misty sea

As the sun drinks it up

Light makes light the burden

Airs become my season

I catch no more upon it.

And when again I go to Earth

The way will have become clear

The day unveiling sovereign

As a footpath, thence unwinding
